Documents you must carry when driving your car in India

 It is mandatory to carry certain documents when you drive a car on the public roads of India. Not having any of these documents with you could be a reason to pay heavy fines to the traffic police. No matter which state you are in, these documents are a must-have.

 Registration certificate

In India, you must register your vehicle within seven days of purchase. You must visit the Regional Transportation Officer's (RTO) to register your vehicle. The registration of a vehicle is valid for fifteen years. You will need to renew your registration every five years. The Motor Vehicles Act passed in 1988 states that it is compulsory to carry a registration certificate of the vehicle you drive whenever you drive on public roads in India.

Pollution Under Control Certificate

The pollution norms for vehicles are unique for every country. In India, the government sets the emission norms and is subject to change every few years. When you drive, it is necessary to carry the Pollution Under Control (PUC) Certificate for the vehicle. Driving License
